Having enjoyed a two-month loan spell with Boro last season, the tough-tackling defender is back at the Easy As HGV Stadium, and this time on a permanent basis.

In his short time at the Club, the youngster helped Farnborough to eight wins and four clean sheets throughout October and November last year, before his loan was cut short by his parent Club exercising a recall clause.

At the beggining of the 2021/22 season, Saunders graduated from The Shots’ Academy and earned a place in the First Team squad, going on to make 16 appearances in Non-League’s top flight.

Back in July this year, Alfie departed Aldershot Town after deciding to put full-time football on hold to address mental health issues he had been suffering with.

After a fresh break, Manager Spencer Day was delighted to accept Alfie back to the Club with open arms: “We are all delighted to welcome back Alfie!

“Of course he’s known to us and I’m thrilled he was willing to return. Thank you to all at Tadley Calleva, especially Joint-Manager Ben [Dillon] who has really helped Alfie and we look forward to Alfie joining our squad.”

An ecastic Alfie Saunders added: “So happy to be back at Farnborough! Can’t wait to get started with this great group of lads!

“Thank you Spencer and lads for the amazing welcome, it’s good to be back!!!”

Alfie has been allocated shirt number 32.
