The 28-year-old made the move to National League Eastleigh in Summer 2022, after helping Farnborough to memorable promotion from The Southern League Premier South via the Play-Offs.

John is formerly of Walton & Hersham, Westfield and Welsh outfit Connah’s Quay Nomads and is now entering his eighth season in the yellow and blue.

The pacey full-back is much-loved across the Boro fan base, having made a name for himself in north east Hampshire.

Giving his reaction to Oyenuga’s return, Manager Spencer Day beamed: “Fantastic signing. I knew it would go down very well. I think he’s won Supporters Player of the Year for three or four seasons.

Day explained how the move came about: “I was aware at the situation at Eastleigh; they decided to part ways. We’d been on him a long time over the Summer. We didn’t say: don’t go and give it a go full-time. It didn’t take him very long to come back and it’s like he’s never been away. We even had his shirt ready because we were hoping to get him in Pre-Season!

“A consistent performer for us who is popular amongst the supporters. John has been with me for a number of years now and we’re all delighted he’s agreed to come back next season to have a crack at The National League South.

“It’s a great signing to get John back in. An early bird Christmas present for the Farnborough fans. It’s a very popular re-signing and we’re delighted to have him.”

Ever-smiling John marked his return with a start in Farnborough’s 2-1 victory at Welling United last night.
