Farnborough look to secure their first win in three matches as they take on Chippenham Town at the Easy As HGV Stadium.
It was a disappointing 2-2 draw in midweek against Havant & Waterlooville, as The Hawks managed to equalise in the dying minutes after Boro managed to turn the game around after going 1-0 down midway through the first half.
Focus must now turn to Chippenham Town, who have won their previous three games, and collected six consecutive draws in the games prior. These results have seen them escape the relegation zone, and they now sit four points clear of the drop zone.
In their previous match, The Bluebirds came from behind to beat Taunton Town 3-1 thanks to goals from Ross Stearn, Matt McClure and Craig Fasanmade, the win lifted them up to 18th in The Vanarama National League South table.
Speaking ahead of the affair, Boro boss Spencer Day was full of praise for this weekend’s opponents.
“We move onto a very tough task against a very spritely and in form Chippenham side. I’ve learned that they’re very quick, they’ve just won their third game on the spin, they’re a footballing side, they always have been. He’s [Gary Horgan] got them well out the relegation zone, they’re in great form, they pass it to death, and they play some really good football.”
Boro were delighted to welcome back Ollie Robinson (illness) and John Oyenuga (injury) in the draw in midweek and both are expected to feature in the clash with Chippenham Town.
Despite his return, Spencer Day believed he got it wrong with the decision to play Oyenuga in Tuesday night’s game: “Truthfully, I probably got it wrong with John, and what I mean by that, I probably shouldn’t have played him.”
Another crucial fixture to reignite the Play-Off push. Come on Farnborough!
