Joining Spencer and co for the brand new Vanarama National League South 2023/24 season is UEFA B Licenced Steve Baker.
Steve is renowned for his time at Harrow Borough, where he was their longest serving Manager, totalling 501 games in the dugout for the north-west London outfit.
Baker was previously in charge of Ryman South Chipstead from 2013 until January 2015, when he then took the hotsteat at the Earlsmead Stadium right up until May this year.
Also formerly Manager of Egham Town and Walton & Hersham, Steve turned out for Hayes, Yeading, Hendon and Egham Town throughout his well-respected playing career.
Manager Spencer Day commented: “I’ve added Steve Baker to my Management team.
“Steve has valuable experience for decades as a player, Coach and Manager at Harrow Borough, where, like us at times, he’s managed on a shoestring.
“I’ve known Steve for over 15 years as we’ve battled on the pitch and know he will bring a lot to the club.”
“We need to continue to grow and expand as we play at a really strong level and with Steve, Ricky, Jon, Dave and myself, supported by Pete the Physio, Mike the Kitman and support Staff, we have the team to continue that growth.
“The players we’ve signed this Pre-Season and additional Management have all shown their appetite to come to Boro and we can’t wait to get going!”
Speaking after his first game in the dugout, Steve said: “Pleased to be on board with the club and a big thanks for the friendly welcome from everyone.
“Great set of lads and really impressed with what I saw last night. Looking forward to the season ahead!”
