Farnborough are on the road again this weekend, as they make the trip to the Rare Breed Meat Co. Stadium to take on Braintree Town.

Last time out, it was another difficult away fixture for The Yellows as they fell to a 3-0 defeat away at Torquay United, with goals coming from Aaron Jarvis and Bradley Ash. The defeat leaves Boro 12th in The Vanarama National League South table.

In The Irons’ last game they played out a 0-0 draw away at Tonbridge Angels. The draw left them 16th in the table. However, in their previous home fixture, Braintree Town put four past the then League leaders Worthing. Goals from Joe Grimwood, Aaron Blair, Tom Blackwell, and Will Davies gave the Essex side a fantastic win.

Ahead of the long trip to Essex, Manager Spencer Day had this to say against this weekend’s opposition: “They’ve got a really good group. We’ll certainly need to be a lot better than we are defensively than we are at the moment, and also be able to pass the ball better.”

Boro will hope to have Jayden Davis available again after the Crawley Town loanee missed the trip to Torquay United after picking up a knock.

Farnborough and Braintree Town met three times last season. Boro were unable to defeat the Essex side on each occasion. A 0-0 draw was played out in Essex. Angelo Harrop’s men got the better of The Yellows in The Buildbase FA Trophy, winning on penalties. In the League game in Hampshire, Braintree Town came away 1-0 winners, thanks to a late penalty from Alfie Matthews.

Another long away trip this weekend, let’s hope we can come away with the first away win this season. Come on Farnborough!
