Farnborough are back in action this weekend as they begin September with Hampton and Richmond Borough making the trip to the Saunders Transport Community Stadium.
The Yellows will be looking to bounce back after a disappointing 3-1 defeat away at Truro City on Bank Holiday Monday. The defeat dropped Boro to 13th in The Vanarama National League South and brought a four-game unbeaten run to an end.
Saturday’s visitors also had a difficult result on Monday as they lost 3-0 away at newly-promoted Aveley. This left The Beavers 21st in The Vanarama National League South with one win, two draws, and three defeats across their opening six games of the season.
The visit of Hampton & Richmond Borough will see the return of Mason Bloomfield to Cherrywood Road. Bloomfield had a very positive spell for Boro when he signed back in January, scoring 11 times in 21 appearances for The Yellows.
Another player in opposition squad who has played for Farnborough includes The Beavers’ Captain Dean Inman, who had a loan spell in the 2012/13 season.
The last time these two sides met in Hampshire, they played out a 2-2 draw. Hisham Kasimu opened the scoring, which was cancelled out by former player Francis Amartey. Ollie Robinson put Boro back ahead before Dean Inman equalised for Hampton & Richmond Borough.
The reverse fixture saw Boro win on their travels, courtesy of a Jonathon Page volley in the 72nd minute to give The Yellows a 1-0 win.
A disappointing effort last time out, let’s put it right this weekend. Come on Farnborough!
