Farnborough return to League action this weekend as they host Slough Town at the Saunders Transport Community Stadium.

Spencer Day’s men progressed to The Emirates FA Cup Third Round Qualifying last time out with a resounding 6-0 win over Wingate & Finchley in a Replay. The victory set up a tie with familiar opposition in Weston-super-Mare next weekend.

The Yellows currently sit 13th in The Vanarama National League South, with three wins, three draws and three losses. Boro are three points off the Play-Off places.

Saturday’s visitors also progressed through to the next round of The Emirates FA Cup in their last fixture. A 2-0 win at Hayes & Yeading United booked Slough Town a place in the Third Round Qualifying of the competition.

The Rebels currently sit 20th in The Vanarama National League South, with three wins and six losses to their name. Their most recent win came against newly-promoted Aveley, where they won 2-0 at Arbour Park courtesy of goals from loan strikers George Alexander and Dominic Hutchinson.

Last time Scott Davies’ side played away from home, they managed a 2-1 midweek win over Dartford. This win began their current three game winning run in all competitions.

Ahead of the arrival of Slough Town this weekend, Player-Coach Ricky Holmes had this to say about our next opponents: “Any game you play against Slough is tough. They were better than us last season when we played them at their Ground.”

“We need to be as good as we were on the ball tonight [against Wingate & Finchley], if not better, to get a result against a hard-working, good side who have got a striker in form, like we have.”

Both sides won a game apiece last season. Farnborough won their home game 4-1, thanks to a Tommy Willard hat-trick and another from Mason Bloomfield. Slough Town won the reverse fixture in Berkshire 2-0.

Let’s return to League action with another win at home. Come on Farnborough!
