Farnborough are back in FA Cup action this weekend as they take on Weston-super-Mare for the second time this season.

The Yellows coasted through the previous round with a 6-0 win over Wingate & Finchley in a Replay. Goals from Ollie Robinson, Taylor Maloney (2), Joe Partington, Reggie Young and Jaden Perez gave Spencer Day’s side a place in the Third Round Qualifying.

Visitors Weston-super-Mare secured their place at this stage of the competition with a home victory over Truro City. Goals from Rex Mannings and Marlon Jackson gave The Seagulls the win and set up the tie in Hampshire.

Looking ahead to the clash, Boro boss Spencer Day had this to say about the visit of The Seagulls. “At the moment, we just need to see who’s fit and then work from there.”

“They’re a really good footballing side. We got the better of them a few weeks ago, but that means absolutely nothing.

“Our team is going to be very different because of all the injuries we’re facing. We have to see who’s fit and then come up with a plan.”

Scott Bartlett’s side currently sit 12th in The Vanarama National League South with 14 points to their names from four wins, two draws, and four losses from their opening 10 games.

The two sides have already faced each other this season. Boro hosted The Seagulls and played them off the pitch last month, winning 3-0 thanks to goals from Alfie Pavey, Connor Cullen and Ryan Upward.

Unfortunately for The Yellows, they will be missing Alfie Pavey who has left the Club to join Woking for an undisclosed fee. Pavey departed as the Club and Division’s leading goalscorer and the top-rated striker in The Vanarama National League South.

A big test awaits this weekend. Let’s hope to progress the next round. Come on Farnborough!
