Farnborough are back at home this weekend as they take on high-flying Bath City.
The Yellows had a difficult time in midweek, losing 0-3 at home to Worthing. Second Half goals from Joan Luque, Ollie Pearce and Ricky Aguiar gave Farnborough their first home defeat in the League this season. Leaving Boro in 12th place and without a win in five games in all competitions.
Saturday’s visitors drew 0-0 in their last fixture, away at Hemel Hempstead Town in midweek. This has left The Romans on a four-game unbeaten run in all competitions, including emphatic victories over Weymouth and Aveley. Bath City currently sit fourth in The Vanarama National League South table, seven points ahead of Farnborough.
Bath City’s strong start to the season has been helped by the goals of Scott Wilson, Cody Cooke and Jordan Thomas. Wilson has scored 13 so far this season, while Cooke and Thomas both sit on nine for the campaign. These goals ensure Jerry Gill’s side have the second-best attack in the League, scoring 35 goals to date.
The Romans currently have the third best away form in The Vanarama National League South, with 16 points from 10 games; winning four games, drawing four and losing only twice. Those defeats came at the hands of Tonbridge Angels and Torquay United.
Both sides won 1-0 away against each other last season. Bath City won the first fixture in Hampshire thanks to Alex Fletcher’s 52nd minute strike. Farnborough returned the favour with a 1-0 win at Twerton Park, from Mason Bloomfield’s 66th minute goal in what was Boro’s first win against The Romans.
Another tough home test this weekend. Let’s get back to winning ways. Come on Farnborough!
