Former AFC Wimbledon Academy Captain Mason signed his first professional deal with the Club in June 2022 and has since been a part of the League Two outfit’s First Team squad.

Ben led his Under 18 side to the EFL Youth Alliance League title, alongside an impressive run in The FA Youth Cup – including a memorable victory over Burnley.

The promising youngster had a loan spell with Basingstoke Town last season, where he dramatically helped win The Isthmian League South Central Division by two points on the final day of the regular season.

Back in May last year, Ben was a proud recipient of The Dons’ second ever Nigel Higgs Development Award.

Primarily a right-sided defender, he has over 20 games worth of experience in The Vanarama National League South following a recent loan at Braintree Town earlier this season – where he scored a valuable equaliser against Farnborough back in September!

Manager Spencer Day added: “The long-winded right-back or right-wing back is at last signed!

“Ben’s actually been around us for the last few weeks now, as I’ve alluded to. He had a very, very slight knock, which needed a sign off that AFC Wimbledon required, but that’s all been done now so I’m delighted.

“Somebody who has started 23 games for Braintree this season, so he knows the level. He scored against us!

“He’s a good footballer, local and really keen to come. We’re grateful to AFC Wimbledon.

“Braintree raved about him to us, which was a really nice compliment for them to say. He’s a winner, certainly will add to the squad and he’s in for the rest of the season.”

Ben will wear shirt number 22.
