Pen McCarthy brings a wealth of football experience to the role and featured in a playing capacity for the B Team last season, being integral to the team’s success in her central midfield role which helped the team to achieve promotion and reach the Junior Cup Final.

She has an incredible wealth of football knowledge and playing experience to lean on, including experiences in Germany and the US, as well as spending time at Oxford United, Kingsclere and more recently Rushmoor.

“I am looking forward to being part of a growing club and developing the ladies into a strong force next season.”

It is also an historical appointment, as it marks the first time a female Manager has been appointed, which marks a positive step in the right direction and has always been an aim for the club.

Like the First Team, the B Team will feature in the Hampshire County Women’s Football League and play a pivotal role in the development of players.

In time, we anticipate the team will be the perfect platform for players coming up through the girls pathway to find their feet in adult women’s football before potentially moving on to the First Team.

We are currently waiting for the HCWFL to confirm the Divisions both our teams will feature in next season following promotion, as well as confirmation of which Cup competitions we may be entered into as a result.
