Futsal is a variant of indoor football played on a smaller hard court, with a smaller ball that doesn’t bounce as high as a regular football.

The fast-paced, skill-intensive game is growing in popularity worldwide as both a recreational activity and a developmental pathway for football players.

“We are thrilled to be expanding into Futsal and providing another high-quality experience for players in our community,” said Farnborough FC CEO, Rob Prince. “Futsal will complement our existing football offerings and create new opportunities for the club moving forward.”

The new Farnborough FC Futsal team will compete in Step 3 of the Futsal Pyramid, which features clubs from across the south of England.

The League season runs from September to May, with teams playing home and away matches against their divisional opponents as well as cup competitions.

Farnborough FC has appointed experienced Futsal Coach Stuart Lee to lead the new team. Stuart has extensive experience coaching Futsal as well as playing at a high level, he has a proven track record of developing talented Futsal players.

“I’m really excited to be joining Farnborough FC and building a competitive Futsal team from the ground up,” said Stuart. “Futsal requires a unique skill set, and I look forward to working with our players to hone those abilities and translate them to success on the Futsal court.”

Farnborough FC will be holding open trials for the new Futsal team, with the first session on Thursday 15th August.
