Jack departs this summer with our blessing, bringing to an end a two and a half year stay at the Saunders Transport Community Stadium, where he went on to make just over 80 appearances for the Club.
Having joined from Salisbury in January 2022, Ball helped Farnborough over the line with promotion from The Southern League Premier South via the Play-Offs.
The vocal defender made 18 appearances in his debut season, using his experience to guide Boro to a number of crucial wins and clean sheets along the way.
Jack was an integral part of the team that overcame Metropolitan Police after extra-time in the Semi-Finals, followed by a dramatic Play-Off Final victory at Hayes & Yeading United less than a week later.
Ball made the step up to The Vanarama National League South and was a mainstay in the 2022/23 Farnborough team that consolidated back at the level. He also played a big part in our memorable FA Cup run that saw the Club reach the Second Round Proper with a televised tie away to Wrexham.
The 31-year-old featured for Boro throughout the first two thirds of 2023/24, before spending the remaining two months of the season helping Salisbury successfully navigate the Play-Offs to clinch promotion to The Vanarama National League South,
Jack will now link up with Dan Brownlie’s Basingstoke Town side who secured a 12th place finish in The Southern League Premier South last season.
Farnborough Manager Spencer Day explained:
“I’m gutted that we are saying goodbye to Bally.
“I offered him terms, but totally understand his desire to play week in week out at Step Three.
“It took years for me to get Bally to Boro, but it was so worth it!”
“Promotion, FA Cup run and real progress with him at the centre of our defence.”
“A massive thank you to Jack, an amazing few years. We will miss you and your family and hope to still see you as much as possible in the future.
“A major loss to the club, but we wish you every success moving forward in everything.”
