2-2

A much anticipated tie between the two Clubs, infront of another large attendance at Meadowbank Stadium this season, as the action got underway.

It was an instant start from hosts, as Alfie Rutherford caught the defenders early and finished past Jack Turner within the first minute.

It then led to a quieter 15 minutes as both sides got a grip of the game. However, as Dorking Wanderers pressure built up upon the Farnborough backline towards the halfway point of the first half, the hosts doubled their advantage through Brennan Camp, with a well placed header from a Carter cross.

This start to the game meant Farnborough needed a good reaction to setbacks to gain anything out of the trip to Surrey.

This was quickly proven to the 244 following fans, as Ricky Holmes finished delightfully off the post leaving Harrison Foulkes with close to no chance.

The final chance of the first half went to Farnborough as Jonny Stuttle was played through but his effort towards goal was well saved by Harrison Foulkes.

HALF-TIME: Dorking Wanderers 2 Farnborough 1

It was at the halfway point when returning striker Alfie Pavey entered the fray, trying to create problems for the backline of The Wanderers.

The hosts were the better team in the opening stages of the second half but did not create any clear chances or efforts on Jack Turner’s goal.

With the away fans well behind the boys in yellow, they began to increase the pressure and tempo of their game, with a clear chance falling to attacking midfielder Joe Haigh, only to be denied by yet another solid save from Harrison Foulkes.

The pressure from the frontline of Farnborough continued, as did the support from the travelling fans as chances were coming thick and fast.

The continued rally of support from the Farnborough faithful, worked a delight as in-form Reggie Young smashed home to level the game, with some good work on the wing from Jonny Stuttle.

The indication of eight added minutes increased the chances for either team to steal a winner in the dying embers, however none were taken. The game finished 2-2, with an entertaining as ever game between the sides.
