The 20-year-old pens a move across to north east Hampshire for the first half of the Enterprise National League South season.

Toby has been with The Addicks since the age of seven, where he signed for the Academy at Under 9 level after initially only training with the Club.

Boro’s new defender rose through the ranks at The Valley and went on to captain their Under 18s to a third successive Professional Development League 2 South title in 2022/23.

The gifted left-back earned his first professional contract in May 2023, saying “signing my first professional contract is something I’ve dreamt of” at the time.

Bower will have caught the eye of Farnborough supporters in the recent Pre-Season Friendly, where he stuck an impressive opening goal past Boro’s very own Jack Turner.

Manager Spencer Day said: “We’re delighted to sign Toby on loan from Charlton.

“Those of you that saw that game [29th July, Pre-Season Friendly], he got a goal and an assist. He’s an outstanding player. I’ve been after him for a couple of weeks when it came about and it gives us great competition in there.

“I don’t expect every player to be ready for the start of the season and demand very high standards of everybody.

“It’s a bit tough on Ben [Greenwood]. I’ve had a difficult chat with Ben. Ben was injured at the end of last season and he’s still in catch-up so he’s still part of the plans.

“We demand a lot off the players at the moment so the opportunity came around and I’m delighted to get Toby in.”

Bower has been allocated shirt number 19.
