The versatile 22-year-old is comfortable at centre-back or in a wing-back role and has signed on loan for the remainder of the 2023/24 season.
Mullins came through Aldershot Town’s Academy, playing for both the under 18 and 21 teams, before he was rewarded with his first professional deal in May 2022.
He also has experience on loan with Leatherhead and Hartley Wintney and joins Boro fresh from signing a contract extension this month that will keep him at The EBB Stadium until the end of next season.
So far, Maxwell has made over ten appearances for The Shots, including making his First Team debut in The Vanarama National League on the opening day of this season.
Manager Spencer Day explained: “He’s somebody who’s been on our radar for a few weeks.
“Max can play in a number of positions. Predominatly, he’s a right-back. He’s been in and around the squad at Aldershot. He’s started a few games earlier in the season.
“He’s versatile, but he can play wing-back, he can play right centre-half. After losing Aaron [Kuhl], we needed a body in and we’re grateful to Aldershot.”
Mullins has been allocated shirt number 16 and goes straight into the squad to face Weston-super-Mare.
