2-1

For the second time in as many games, Farnborough struck first taking the lead very early on.

It was the case of another game, another goal for loan striker Jonny Stuttle. Luciano D’Auria-Henry with some fantastic footwork on the right-hand side, pulling the ball across for Jonny Stuttle to smash home at the near post, just inside three minutes.

It went from early delight, to early concern as captain Ollie Robinson was forced off with an injury, as we send him our best wishes whilst we find the extent of the injury.

Going into the game, Spencer Day and his staff knew this game was essential to keeping the momentum, building up from previous weeks and putting it into action. Player-Coach Ricky Holmes beautifully finessed an effort into the far corner on 11 minutes, after robbing Dylan Kadji of possession inside his own box.

The visitors started to create some half chances, looking to cut the deficit before half-time. The main chance being a penalty which was converted calmly by Luke Coulson, after Dylan Kadji went down in a challenge with Jack Turner.

Visiting goalkeeper Max Harris was definitely the busier out of the two in the first period, making some very important and good quality saves. His latest save to this point was from a Joe Haigh effort from a good, fast moving counter attack from Farnborough.

It quickly became a quiet encounter in the second half, with Farnborough controlling the game and keeping possession.

It took until the 67th minute for a clear-cut chance for either team, with a massive scramble in the Farnborough box which was eventually cleared away as the visitors continued to search for their equaliser.

The chances didn’t end there for Farnborough as Richard Chin found some space and unleashed a strong effort towards Max Harris, but it was saved well.

It was questionable whether Farnborough should’ve added a third to their tally, as the Boro forwards had three swipes towards goal, but all were diverted away by the Weston-super-Mare backline.

Farnborough managed to hold on for the win, having limited their Play-Off chasing opponents to little chances throughout.
