Adam joins from Dorking Wanderers, where he spent the 2022/23 campaign helping to cement the Wanderers’ status in their inaugural season in The Vanarama National League.
Beginning his Youth career with Reading Academy, Mekki made the move to Aldershot Town in 2006, where he then signed professional terms three years later. Loan spells with Oxford City, Carshalton Athletic, Dorchester Town and Basingstoke Town followed down the line, before eventually departing The Shots in June 2014.
The Welshman then joined Barnet, Dover Athletic, before signing for Tranmere Rovers in Summer 2015. Adam spent two seasons at Prenton Park, making just shy of 60 appearances for the Merseyside outfit.
Mekki’s next club was Bromley, where he racked up 73 appearances over three years, preceding a switch across to Kent to Ebbsfleet United in 2020. He was part of The Fleet side that finished third in The Vanarama National League South in 2021/22 and made the Play-Off Final, which they narrowly lost to Dorking Wanderers – where he eventually signed the following season!
Manager Spencer Day told the official website: “Another pedigree signing with great experience at this level and above.
“Equally at home as an either side wing-back, number ten or on the wing, which will give us great options. Was instrumental in Ebbsfleet’s run to the Play-Off Final this time last season.
“Again, he showed his desire to to come to Boro, which was a major factor to me”
After finally making the move to the Easy As HGV Stadium, Mekki said: “I knew it was always a club that had ambition. Spencer’s done a really good job getting the club to where it is today.
“It was a club that’s been on my radar for a long time and thankfully, it was something we were able to get over the line.
“With the calibre of signings and the players that are here, I definitely think the Play-Offs is not unrealistic and something that we should be aiming for.”
